2012 Season
Gale Theatre of Barbados and London presents an evening of theatre and musical entertainment for its 2012 Season, under the patronage of The Hon. Stephen Lashley, MP for the Ministry of Community Development and Culture.
The Lover, Pinter and the Piano.
To be directed by Rob Leyshon and produced by Melissa Simmonds.
The Lover, Harold Pinter’s intriguing one act comedy re imagined for this production in a modern Caribbean setting will be preceded by a short celebration of Pinter’s life and loves; his poetry, his prose and above all, his passionate relationship with Antonia Fraser.
Harold Pinter was a Nobel Prize winning playwright and giant of contemporary theatre, a cricket loving political and peace activist who regularly visited Barbados!
The Lover, will be followed by award winning jazz singer and pianist Miss Liane Carroll arriving directly from Ronnie Scotts jazz club in London and performing the Great American Song book with Barbadian guests.
The season as usual will unite talent from the UK and from Barbados. As part of our educational remit, Miss Liane Carroll will also be holding a music workshop.
Venue: The Frank Collymore Hall, Bridgetown, Barbados.
