"Well all I have are great positive memories of working on Macbeth. It was certainly a learning experience and I did come out with some knowledge and use of different techniques. The work ethic was high and the cast was all brilliant. The director was great and absolutely wonderful working with. All in all I had a most enjoyable experience working on the production - Macbeth".

"Working with The Gale Theatre on Macbeth was an experience one cherishes for a lifetime. Under the seasoned, professional, expertise of the director Glen Walford we explored a unique story telling of Shakespeare’s play. For me the buzz of actually being in the Caribbean for 6 whole glorious weeks while practising my craft, that I am most passionate about, was a great experience. I find Gale's ethos of bridging cultures and celebrating the differences a fantastic one. Working with such fantastic Barbadian actors such as Patrick foster and Alison Sealy Smith was hugely enjoyable and informative too. Gale continued to train the young Bajan actors in the workshops related to the play, and to see their passion was inspiring, it was a truly symbiotic relationship where we soaked up the culture of Barbados too. Melissa Simmonds, Artistic director/producer must be congratulated for her foresight, over all vision, and absolute dedication to the projects she undertakes."

'Working with Gale Theatre Company on Macbeth broadened my knowledge of how professional theatre is done. I learnt so much from the cast members from England and we exchanged ideas on an artistic and cultural level.'

"I really enjoyed my experience working with Gale Theatre, it was refreshing to be among people who were so dedicated to their craft and committed to seeing the artistic process through to the very end. My favourite part of the experience was the warm up sessions where everyone would get into character and come together as a group, feeding off each others' energy to create a wonderful improv. scene. I learnt alot, especially from my "weird sisters", and it renewed my faith in theatre as a viable career opportunity. Thank you for the experience! My only question now is "when shall we [all] meet again...?"

'Working with The Gale Theatre Company was
a dream come true for me. I had the pleasure of working with professionals
from both sides of the Atlantic. I was well looked after; from the
producer to the stage management, everyone treated us with integrity.
The Bajan people were wonderful and generous and I fell in love
with the island so much so that I cried all the way back home! If
I was to receive another offer of work from The Gale Theatre of
London and Barbados, I would not hesitate to accept.'

'It was a great learning experience. The performances were great but it was the process that was the most important for me. Thanks for the experience. Hope it can be repeated in 2010.'

'As a globe-trotting director, the opportunity
to enhance 'Blithe Spirit' with the joyful yet surreal ingredients
of the Caribbean proved irresistible. My thanks to Melissa Simmonds
for tracking me down and persuading me to direct for Gale and to
all those who gave their passions and skills for making the production
such an unforgettable success.'

'Working with Gale Theatre was a great step
in achieving my dream of working as a professional actor in Barbados.
I was treated professionally, paid consistently, knew how much I
would be paid, and performed at home in front of a home audience.
And they said it couldn't be done!'

'Having spent near 15 years in a struggling
theatre scene in Barbados, it was greatly rewarding to work with
GALE Theare at the very highest level of professionalism. The experince
of being part of "a wonderfully directed, casted and produced
"Blithe Spirit" rejuvenated the "bug" and I
look forward to working more and more with the GALE team. It was
challenging, rewarding, educating and most of all fun, everything
it should be.'

'The 2007 Gale Workshop was very enjoyable.
We learned games that help with your voice projection and we also
learned how to present yourself to the best advantage. I think the
lessons were helpful for everyday life as well as performing'

'The workshops and rehearsals were good for
me because they showed me some of my weak points and helped me to
focus on them without making me feel like less of a performer. I
like the way Ian takes his time with everyone and was fun and informative
at the same time'

'The Gale Theatre Company reinforced within
me that you never stop learning in theatre. Ian's personality and
knowledge were greatly appreciated. The exercises were fun and educational
and will help me with my class this coming September. If the workshops
are ever back in Barbados, I would definitely encourage any young
person interested in theatre to attend'
